What is it?
The MX Tryout “Road to the Race Track” is our ACU-backed progressive scheme, taking the junior non-rider from their first time on a bike through to their first experience on a full size practise circuit with other riders. What are the levels? The scheme allows riders to progress towards Bronze, Silver and Gold riding standards. Bronze To achieve the Bronze award, riders will be able to start/stop, pull away, ride with a steady throttle and begin to use the gears. Silver To achieve the Silver award, riders will be able to confidently start the bike and pull away consistently, use correct gears for varying terrains, use both brakes effectively, and maintain a good level of clutch and throttle control. Gold To achieve the Gold award, riders will be able to maintain correct body position and show excellent throttle, clutch and brake control at all times across varied terrains, gradients and obstacles. They will be able to show excellent cornering techniques, be able to slow ride, and set a good example to others regarding safety on and off the track. Once riders achieve our Gold award, we feel they are now ready to ride safely on any motocross practise facility. How do riders sign up? By attending one of our sessions, junior riders will be progressing towards the above awards. At the end of the rider's first session, they will be given an update on their progress and the relevant certificate if they've achieved that level. |
